BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesia will check the safety standard of all AirAsia planes operating in the country.
Indonesian Transport Minister Ignasius Jonan says the country will carry out ramp checks, which are inspections of the aircraft and aircrew. And will also review the operations of AirAsia in Indonesia, to convince customers that the operation and business activities of the budget airliner would be better in the future.
Indonesia had suffered from a series of air accidents years ago, and the EU had imposed a travel ban on many of its airlines in 2007, including Indonesia AirAsia. Though the ban was lifted in 2010.
