BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- China has registered a low unemployment rate of 4.1 per cent for 2014. Figures released by China's Human Resources and Welfare Authority show that over 13 million more people got jobs during the year. 5.4 million of them were re-employed.

China’s social security system is also on the path of improvement. By of the end of November, 837 million people are expected to have joined the system. That would be an increase of more than 130 million from the same time last year.

Speaking at a press conference, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Security underlined the importance of deepened reform of the welfare system, especially the pension system in continued improvement.

"Next year, we will comprehensively deepen reform on social security regulations, and work out an overall reform plan to the pension system, as well as detail policies on unifying the national pension and completing personal accounts. It is expected to boost the level of pensions for both urban and rural residents," said Minister Yin Weimin.
