BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The first national campus singing competition finals were held at Tsinghua University, on Sunday night. 16 singers made it through, after the elimination rounds saw thousands of students take part over the last four months.
Chosen by the judges and audience. The 50-50 voting split meant the winner was sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Those watching were able to vote using a special QR code and comment via an app called "Danmu", with their thoughts appearing on the big screen.
There were plenty of Rap and Pop classics. But songs that had been originally written by the singers themselves got the biggest response.
The eventual winner was Qi Chenqun from PLA art academy.
