BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- This year marks the 77th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre. Starting from 2003, Buddhist monks from China and Japan have been holding a Buddhist assembly to pray for peace for the 300,000 Chinese civilians and unarmed soldiers killed by Japanese invaders in 1937.
The religious service was joined by several South Korean monks last year. And the gathering includes 108 monks from Buddhist temples in China, Japan and South Korea, 200 Buddhists and hundreds of other people from around the world.
