BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- CCTV has interviewed former Japanese diplomat and writer, Naoto Amaki, about the snap election. Amaki says the election is an expedient carried out by the Prime Minister, due to his policy failure and is aimed at extending Shinzo Abe's political life.
"Many of Abe's polices cannot be implemented, such as Abenomics, which is the common view," Amaki said. "And in terms of his diplomatic policy, Abe has not made good relationships with China, South Korea, and the DPRK, and even the United States and Russia."
"Abe's policy failure is so obvious, no matter how he tried his best. Even so, Abe cannot admit his fault. So he needs an excuse and a chance to cover his policy failure. That's the purpose of his decision for a snap election."
