BEIJING, December 14 (Xinhuanet) -- A candlelight vigil was held at Nanjing's Victims' Memorial Hall this evening to commemorate the massacre victims.
Among those participating were people from all walks of life, both from China and further afield. 1,213 candles were lit in memory of all the victims. The one-hour commemoration, which is part of the memorial ceremonies being held across the country on the first ever National Memorial Day, has been run annually since 2009.
