BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- China has set December 13th as the National Memorial Day for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre.
Memorial activities will be held in the city of Nanjing, where in 1937, hundreds of thousands of Chinese were killed by the invading Japanese army.
On the first memorial day, a ceremony will begin at 10a.m. in the morning, with the national anthem played. Afterwards, all vehicles, ships and trains will sound their sirens for one minute, while the public will observe the tribute. The ceremony serves to commemorate all those who were slaughtered in the massacre and the invasion by the Japanese army.
