BEIJING, Nov. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said China will deepen its cooperation with eight Pacific island nations ranging from trade, farming and fisheries, maritime to energy and infrastructure.
Xi made these comments in a keynote speech to eight South Pacific island leaders in Nadi in Fiji. Xi also announced that 97 percent of imports from least developed countries will enjoy zero tariff treatment in China. He stressed China will offer scholarships to 2,000 candidates and provide 5,000 training opportunities from the South Pacific over the next five years.
China will continue its efforts on sending medical teams to work on island nations.
