BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- The World Internet Conference has begun in Wuzhen, a historic water town in east China's Zhejiang Province.
This is the first time Chinese authorities are holding this conference. Centered on the theme of "An Interconnected World Shared and Governed by All", the conference has brought together more than 1,000 representatives from technology firms and regulators across the world.
The participants will discuss topics including global internet governance, cross-border E-commerce, mobile internet, and cyber-security. China has called for the construction of a multi-lateral, democratic and transparent global internet governance system.
A consensus is expected to be published on Friday when the three-day conference closes.
