BEIJING, Nov. 5 (Xinhuanet) --The 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Week, opens today in Beijing.
Leaders, ministers and senior officials from the 21 APEC member economies are gathering in the Chinese capital to discuss new growth paths that will be vital to boosting the global recovery. They will focus on three key topics--deepening regional economic integration, advancing economic reform and innovation, as well as boosting infrastructure investment and comprehensive connectivity. Chinese President Xi Jinping will chair a series of programs.
The last round of warm-up meetings by senior officials opens today. The two-day meeting will pave the way for the ministerial level meeting set to begin on Friday. Ministers will discuss measures to facilitate trade as well as other key issues.
From Sunday to Monday, Beijing will host the CEO Summit, which provides an opportunity for business leaders from more than a-thousand companies to discuss hot issues with policy makers and academics. The Leaders’ meeting will kick off on November 10th.
