BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhuanet) --The Shanghai bourse has conducted a fresh round of technical tests on the scheme of Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect.
The test simulated the real trading environment for the first time with brokers undertaking trading procedures including placing orders and checking stock prices. Although officials at both the Shanghai and Hong Kong bourses have said there is no timetable for the launch, it was earlier announced that all tests will be completed at least 10 days before the trading link opens up. Vice chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, Yao Gao, said on Friday that preparation work for the linkup has entered the final stage.
"It's a big step for China's financial market opening up, the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect should be launched in a proper environment under proper conditions," Finance and Securities Inst. Of Renmin Univ.'s superintendent Wu Xiaoqiu said.
Although the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect has been delayed, it will not change the big picture of the opening up of China's financial market.
