BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo as part of an effort to build a coalition to fight Islamic State militants.
On his arrival in Cairo on Saturday, Kerry met Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi. He is also set to meet with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi. The visit is the latest leg of his Middle East tour that has taken him to Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
At the Jeddah conference in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have pledged to "do their share" in the global fight against IS militants.
