BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinians are marking the third day of Eid al-Fitr, but the civilians in the Gaza Strip suffering air strikes have been forced to flee their homes. What should be a time of these is seldom delight and joy left for the Eid al-fitr holiday.

Israeli airstrikes have forced Palestinians civilians to flee their homes and seek shelter here. Space is cramped and the facilities are limited. Many must sleep on the ground.

Although it’s Eid al-fitr, there’s no joy.

Some of them said they had no time to take anything with them.

"We left our home behind. There is absolutely no Eid al-fitr holiday here. We don’t feel the festival. It’s very sad that I have no money in my pocket. I can’t buy new clothes and gifts for my daughter and son. I have nothing."

Hamas says Israeli forces bombed a hospital and a park in Gaza City, killing at least 10 people in the first day of Eid.

Blood and glass could be seen at the park.

A witness said when the blast hit, lots of children were playing there.

"I saw seven children playing in the park. They were struck dead at the scene. Three adults sitting among them were also hit. The children were playing and enjoying the coming Eid al-fitr holiday. However, they were attacked. Their arms and legs were blown apart. So were their bodies and heads.

Emergency rescuers and Palestinian civilians gathered at the scene. The injured and the remains of the children were sent to hospital. Broken-hearted parents cannot contain their grief. Nearly three weeks of conflict have left over a thousand people dead, most of them civilians in the Gaza Strip.
