BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhuanet) --Visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro in Havana, during his first state visit to Cuba since taking office.
On Tuesday, the two leaders reviewed a guard of honour at the Palace of the Revolution and then held talks with representatives from both countries.
President Xi also laid a wreath in tribute to Cuba’s national hero Jose Marti, who dedicated his life to Cuba’s bid for independence in the 19th century.
On the same day, Xi Jinping visited Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro and the two exchanged views on bilateral ties, the international situation and other issues of common concern.
