BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhuanet) -- The death toll from Israel’s air offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to over 120, as several airstrikes hit the area on Saturday morning.
According to hospital officials, the morning’s airstrikes killed three Hamas police officers and injured some others. In Gaza City, residents searched through the rubble hoping to find survivors. Hamas officials said that overnight raids targeted their homes and other buildings, and for the first time a pair of mosques.
Gaza Health Ministry said more than 920 people have been wounded, since Israel launched the strikes five days ago to stop Hamas rocket fire on its citizens. Israel has accused Hamas militants of stockpiling weapons beneath mosques, schools and residential homes, endangering civilians.
