BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Today is the second of China’s annual national college entrance exam, known as the Gaokao. But two students have failed to take the exam for the injuries caused by a brave act of fighting knift attack. Chinese ministry of education says it will arrange a different exam for them.
This year's exam taker Liu Yanbing and Yi Zhenyong are still receiving treatments in the hospital. They were stabbed while trying to stop a knife attack on a bus in Yi Chuan city a week ago. The attacker stabbed five people until Liu Yanbing, who was already stabbed, seized the knife. Their brave deeds have drawn widespread compliment.
