BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Ukraine’s new president Petro Poroshenko has laid out a peaceful plan for ending the crisis in the eastern part of the country.
The plan includes an offer of early regional elections in the east, and a decentralisation of power to the regional administrations. Poroshenko says people in Donetsk, and Donbass in Luhansk could speak Russian freely.
Poroshenko plans to create more jobs for Donbass, and improve the investment environment in the region. He says amendments will be made to the Constitution to ensure the decentralisation of power to the regional administration. But Poroshenko reaffirmed that there is no room for negotiation on the issues of Crimea, joining the European Union and the governmental system of Ukraine.
