World Cup test match held at Sao Paulo's stadium

BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Officials from FIFA have overseen the second and final test event at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo, and they admit that more work needs to be done, before the stadium is fully ready for the tournament's opening match on June 12th.

Some parts of the facility still haven't been tested with fans inside, and other areas will be overhauled in the coming week. Slow policing outside the venue meant hundreds of spectators missed the start of the game, and the on-site internet signal was also erratic, but transport to the ground was quick and stress free. The stadium was supposed to be ready last December, but is one of several still undergoing last-minute preparations.

Sunday's Brazilian League game passed without any major incidents, however, as 37,000 fans saw Corinthians draw 1-1 with Botafogo, far below the capacity crowd of 68,000 expected for the Brazil-Croatia opener. In addition to that contest, five other matches will be played at the arena, including one of the tournament's semi-finals.
