BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhuanet) -- Naval ships from China and Russia continue their exercise in the East China Sea. Day 5 of the joint drill featured anti-submarine manoeuvres, and search and rescue and live-fire exercises.
The day began at 8 a.m., with two naval ships carrying out a simulated search and rescue operation. In the afternoon, 8 naval ships from both sides conducted a live-fire drill. This is the first time that Russian and Chinese sailors have worked together on their navy ships. But it’s the third joint naval drill, following similar operations off the coast of Russia’s Far East in July 2013, and one in the Yellow Sea in April 2012.
