BEIJING, April 7 (Xinhuanet) -- It's been 31 days since the Beijing-bound jetliner vanished after taking off from Kuala Lumpur, with 239 people on board. The search is continuing today, with growing concerns that the batteries, powering the flight MH370’s black boxes, are about to run out.

According to the Joint Agency Coordination Center in Perth, Monday’s search area is expected to be approximately 234 thousand kilometers. It is some two thousand kilometers from Perth. Search areas have been refined based on continuing ground-breaking and multi-disciplinary technical analysis of satellite communication.

There are nine military planes, three civilian planes and 14 ships involved in Monday’s search operations. China’s military aircraft Ilyushin 76 was the first plane to depart Perth’s airport for the search area this morning.

UK’s HMS Echo is en route to assist the Chinese vessel Haixun 01, to investigate the pulse signals that were detected earlier in the Indian Ocean. Australia’s ADV Ocean Shield is continuing investigations in its own area. The JACC said good weather is expected throughout the day.

Malaysian reports say the investigations on passengers aboard flight MH370 are continuing. Malaysian police are checking surveillance video at the airport on the departure day. And 17 relatives of Chinese passengers returned to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
