BEIJING, March 24 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, in the Hague. They reached a consensus on bilateral relations and issued a joint statement, saying the two countries would establish a comprehensive partnership of cooperation.
President Xi said China and the Netherlands both value developing relations. He proposed the two sides should maintain high-level exchanges, deepen mutual trust and respect each other's core interests and concerns.
Xi Jinping said the two countries should strengthen cooperation in agriculture and water conservation, and promote the free flow of commodities, personnel, and technology. He welcomed Dutch involvement in China's industrialization, urbanization and modernization of agriculture. And he said both countries should oppose trade protectionism.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte said the two countries are important partners, stressing his country will actively expand bilateral trade and investment.
