Four attackers were shot dead at the scene on Saturday night. Police say more than 10 terrorist suspects atttacked people with kives at the square and ticket hall of Kunming Railway station. China's leadership has urged the immediate arrest and punishment of the terrorists.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged that the attack should be immediately investigated.

The President warned of the complexity of combating terrorism, but says the government is determined to fight it, so that the safety of the people and their property, and the stability of the society could be guaranteed.

Premier Li Keqiang also told public security authorities at all levels to reinforce security control measures in crowded public places.
