BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have ended senior-level talks, the first in almost seven years, without making any major progress.
The talks, held at the border village of Panmunjeom on Wednesday, lasted over 12 hours. The two delegations were headed by vice-ministerial level officials.
South Korea said the DPRK requested a delay of the annual US-South Korean military drills. The DPRK wants them to take place after agreed reunions of families separated by the Korean War.
The joint drills will start on February the 24th, while the family reunions are expected to start on February 20th and end five days later.
