BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- The nominations are in from the Directors Guild of America, an honor that also often foreshadows Oscar success.

On Tuesday, Martin Scorsese, Steve McQueen, David O. Russell, Alfonso Cuaron and Paul Greengrass all got the nod. It's the first Directors Guild Awards nominations for McQueen, Cuaron and Greengrass, and the 11th for Oscar-winner Scorsese.

Cuaron has received his nomination for "Gravity", Greengrass for "Captain Phillips", McQueen for "12 Years a Slave", and Scorsese for "The Wolf of Wall Street".

The Directors Guild has consistently been a key predictor of the nominees and eventual winner of the best director Oscar, which often also wins the top prize for best picture. The ceremony will be held on January 25th in Los Angeles, six weeks before the Academy Awards.
