BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- The Afghan Taliban says they carried out the attack on a military convoy belonging to a NATO-led coalition force in Kabul. The bombing took place just outside the coalition’s base in the city’s diplomatic quarter.
According to security officials, the explosion occurred on Saturday evening in the vicinity of Camp Eggers, near the German and Italian embassies and Afghanistan’s presidential palace. No troops were hurt and the incident is still being investigated. Local police say another explosion in the south of the capital also caused no injuries. But one soldier was killed in a suicide bombing in eastern Afghanistan.
