BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem to push forward bilateral ties. Wang Yi has enhanced the development of China-Israel relations, saying it has benefited people of both countries.
He said China is willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation in various areas for new achievements on bilateral ties. Wang Yi also pointed out the importance of the inter-government cooperation mechanism, saying China will further carry out exchanges between senior officials from the two countries. The Chinese foreign minister still called on Israel to be more flexible and open on high-tech exports to China.
Wang Yi also touched upon the mideast peace talks, hoping that Israel can make the right decision and push forward the peace process.
Netanyahu said he sees bright prospects of ties between Israel and China. He expressed his willingness to take advantages of the technologies from Israel and the investments from China to further boost bilateral trade. He also pledged to strengthen cooperation in areas, including water resource management, healthcare, agriculture and green energy.
