BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- China has become the third country in the world to successfully land an explorer on the moon. Former Soviet Union cosmonaut Andrei Antonovich Grechko has spoken highly of China’s progress and forecast the future of human space exploration.
"I’m very glad to see the prgress China has made in space exploration and Yutu’s successful landing on the moon. China is realizing its ambition in the field with concret efforts. In some way, I think it’s doing a better job than Russia. I believe the international community will jointly carry out plans to land on the Mars in ten years or 15 years, since it’s a project too costly for a single country. I believe we can expect Chinese astronauts in the first flight to the Mars," he said.
