BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- According to the communique issued Tuesday after the Third Plenary Session, China will establish a State Security Committee. The body will look for an innovative approach to prevent and end social disruptions and improve public security. Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang explained the purpose of the security committee during a press conference on Wednesday.
"The purpose of establishing the state security committee is to improve China’s mechanism and strategy for state security, and to ensure national security. Without doubt, the establishment of such a body will prevent terrorists, separatists, and religious extremists from operating easily. In conclusion, the committee will deter forces wanting to threaten China’s national security." said Qin Gang, Spokesperson, Foreign Ministry.
