Cold front hits N. China, temperatures to drop by up to 10 degrees Celsius

BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- A cold front is affecting northern parts of China. In the coming days, temperatures in the area will drop by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. Some parts are even going to see a plummet of up to ten degrees.

But the folks in the northeastern provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin are already well-prepared.

In Heilongjiang’s capital city Harbin, heating service already started on Sunday. Local authorities say indoor temperatures should be no less than 18 degrees, while the lowest temperature during the day in this city has dropped to only four degrees.

In some cities of Jilin, heaters began working last Wednesday. That’s one week earlier than last year.
