BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- The United States has blamed what it called Russian "intransigence" for the stalling of a UN resolution condemning Syria’s alleged chemical weapons use.
Meanwhile Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani both signalled their shared opposition to military intervention in Syria. They spoke to each other over the phone on Wednesday. The two also agreed that the use of chemical weapons is unacceptable.
