BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Monday marks the second day of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Brunei. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met his counterparts from Russia and the DPRK at the sidelines of the event.

During the meeting between Wang Yi and Russian foreign minister Seigei Lavrov, both sides agreed to boost communication and cooperation in areas such as the economy, investment, energy, and culture. They also agreed to support each other, enhance cooperation in international affairs and push for denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.

During his meeting with the DPRK's foreign minister, Pak Ui Chun, Wang Yi said both sides should work together to push for the stable development of bilateral ties and make efforts to solve the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.

"In order to resolve the DPRK’s nuclear issue, we need to resume the six-party talks. We hope the relevant parties can work together towards the goal and bring the denuclearisation back into the dialogues," Wang Yi said.
