BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhuanet) -- 2 Chinese surveillance ships and 1 surveillance helicopter have joined the Guangdong surveillance team, and began their first mission on Tuesday.
They are heading for the exclusive economic zone in the Beibu Gulf, to patrol the reefs and carry out other law enforcement tasks. The two surveillance ships, Haijian 9020 and Haijian 9030, are about 70 meters long and have a sailing endurance of 5,000 nautical miles. The helicopter can fly continuously for about 4 hours.
