BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhuanet) -- China’s healthcare reforms have been an important part of the country’s efforts to provide more social security and improve the people’s wellbeing. CCTV News Senior Reporter Tian Wei caught up with Chen Zhu, the Minister of Health, on the sidelines of the ongoing session of the NPC.
Chen, an NPC Deputy, has over the past years played an instrumental role in designing and implementing the country’s healthcare reforms. He is also one of a few Non-Chinese Communist Party members who have been serving in a ministerial role. Recently, he was elected Chairman of the Chinese Peasants & Workers Democratic Party.
