BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Internet service has gone down across Syria. International flights were also canceled at the Damascus airport after a nearby road was closed by heavy fighting. Cellphone service also went out in Damascus and parts of central Syria.
Activists say the government often cuts Internet and phone services before launching major military operations. There was speculation on Thursday of imminent offensives by government troops.
However, the government blamed rebel fighters for the outages.
