BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhuanet) --US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged the president of Nigeria to push ahead with reforms as the West African nation faces a deadly insurgency.
Clinton’s visit to Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation and a major supplier of US oil imports, comes as President Goodluck Jonathan is under growing pressure to stop the violence in the northern and central regions of the country.
She said America wants to work with the Nigerian government side by side, especially while critical decisions are being made on aid development. On his part, Jonathan commended the US government for their support over the years.
