BEIJING, Feb. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- In Japan, media have been invited for a second time to visit the earthquake-crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
The visit comes as the Nuclear and Industrial Security Agency was conducting its first thorough inspection of safety equipment crucial to keeping the reactors in a stable condition. But media were not allowed in, while inspections were made inside the reactor buildings. There, thousands of workers still struggle in harsh conditions.
The safety of workers at the plant has been a major concern ever since the disaster struck on March 11th last year. But Japanese officials now say conditions have improved significantly.
