BEIJING, Jan. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- The new leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un, has marked New Year's Day with a visit to the military.
As the supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, or KPA, he inspected a tank division that was frequently visited by his father and grandfather.
Kim Jong Un praised the soldiers and said he expects the division to become the army’s most powerful unit, and hopes it will be ready for combat at any time. This was Kim’s first KPA inspection since he assumed the military command.
