BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- China's permanent representative to the UN says China supports the peaceful reconstruction process in Afghanistan.
Li Baodong told a Security Council meeting Monday Afghanistan should be "run and owned by Afghans". He also said China is committed to developing good relations with the country, and will continue to provide all possible help.
A few weeks ago, at the Bonn Conference on Afghanistan, China announced 150-million US dollars in unconditional aid.
Regarding the withdrawal of troops, Li stressed that all parties involved must proceed in a responsible manner to ensure Afghanistan's safety.
