- The 17th Asian Games was held in Incheon, South Korea from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4. Fourteen world records were broken while 27 Asian records and 88 Asian Games records were renewed. China won the most gold medals for the consecutive ninth time. Japanese swimmer Kosuke Hagino was awarded MVP of Incheon Asian Games.
