HO CHI MINH CITY, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's national women football team remained world No. 34, according to the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA)'s latest rankings.
The team finished fourth in the Asian Games in September in Incheon, South Korea.
With 1,630 points, Vietnam ranked second in the Southeast Asian region after world No. 31 Thailand with 1,651 points, and ahead of world No. 44 Myanmar with 1,530 points.
In Asia, Vietnam ranked seventh. Japan took the lead with 2,084 points, followed by DPR Korea with 1,981 points and Australia with 1,957 points.
In the world rankings, Germany took the top spot, with the United States second and France third, reported FIFA on its website on Tuesday.
