MONTEVIDEO, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Uruguayan forwards Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani form part of the 22-man national football team that will play Costa Rica and Chile later this month, it was announced Wednesday.

Team coach Oscar Tabarez announced the two international players, together for the first time since the 2014 Brazil World Cup ended in July, were on the list for the Nov. 13 friendly against Costa Rica in Montevideo, and the Nov. 18 friendly against Chile in Santiago.

Tabarez had called on Cavani for the September games against Japan and South Korea, but not on Suarez, whose situation was uncertain after world soccer body FIFA banished him several months from competition for biting a rival on the field.

Other footballers from Uruguay's World Cup team to make the lineup are goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, defender Diego Godin, and midfielders Egidio Arevalo and Cristian Rodriguez.

So far, notable absences from the squad include the team captain from the last two World Cups, defender Diego Lugano, and forward Diego Forlan, the best player of the 2010 South Africa Cup.

Uruguay, current regional champion, was knocked out of this year's cup before making it to the quarterfinals.

The full lineup is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Fernando Muslera (Galatasaray, Turkey), Rodrigo Munoz (Libertad, Paraguay).

Defenders: Diego Godin (Atletico de Madrid, Spain), Jose Maria Gimenez (Atletico de Madrid), Emiliano Velazquez (Getafe, Spain), Gaston Silva (Torino, Italy), Maximiliano Pereira (Benfica, Portugal), Alvaro Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

Midfielders: Egidio Arevalo (Tigres, Mexico), Mathias Corujo (Universidad de Chile), Alvaro Gonzalez (Lazio, Italy), Nicolas Lodeiro (Corinthians, Brazil), Cristian Rodriguez (Atletico de Madrid), Giorgian de Arrascaeta (Defensor Sporting, Uruguay), Gaston Ramirez (Hull City, England), Guzman Pereira (Universidad de Chile), Carlos Sanchez (River Plate, Argentina).

Forwards: Diego Rolan (Girondins, France), Jonathan Rodriguez (Penarol, Uuguay), Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint German, France), Abel Hernandez (Hull City), Luis Suarez (Barcelona, Spain).
