PARIS, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- French outfits Lyon nipped a 1-0 victory over Marseille at home on Sunday to snap the Ligue 1 leaders' eight-game winning run.
Yoann Gourcuff fired a rifled effort from 10 meters in the 65th minute to put Lyon ahead after Lacazette's powerful pass holding off a few defenders and sending the Frenchman through on goal.
With the victory, Lyon extend their unbeaten streak to seven games and climb to the third place on the Ligue 1 table, while Marseille, who scored 25 goals against nine committed, stay on top with a four-point lead over defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Another Sunday's 11th round match saw Nice trashed Guingamp 7-2, with five goals from Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo, and Alassane Plea and Eric Bautheac contributed each.
Guingamp was the basement club of Ligue 1, however, it opened scoring with a goal from Claudio Beauvue on eight minutes. But two goals, adding a second one in late second half from Ronnie Schwartz, were far from saving the home side.
In other play of the day, Saint-Etienne moved up to the fourth position with a 1-0 victory over Metz, and Rennes handed Lille a third consecutive defeat after winning 2-0 at home.
