NEW YORK, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Five-time U.S. Open champion Serena Williams beat Vania King 6-1, 6-0 on Thursday to move into the third round.
It cost the world number one less than an hour to finish the match.
Williams moved to 15-0 in second-round matches at the U.S. Open after the victory. She was out in the third round 1998, when she made her U.S. Open debut.
Williams was going to play Varvara Lepchenko or Mona Barthel in the third round.
