KAMPALA, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of Uganda' s national football team on Wednesday named the squad that will prepare for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier Group game.
Uganda' s team, Cranes will play away to the Black Stars of Ghana on Sept. 5 in Kumasi in the first Group E game.
Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, named a 25-man squad that will start preparations on Monday with the local based players.
"I have named a strong team that I know will work hard to get good results," Sredojevic told reporters here.
He has however dropped Kenyan based striker Daniel Sserunkuma, Emmanuel Okwi and Joseph Ochaya.
Portugal based defender Alex Kakuba who features for Estouria has also been recalled to the team. The South African based players Denis Onyango and Geoffrey Massa who missed the away game against Mauritania last month have now been included.
Youngster Yunus Ssentamu who scored three goals for Uganda Cranes at the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and now features for AS Vita of Democratic Republic of Congo has also been invited.
Sredojevic said the team will camp in either Niger or Mali before traveling to Ghana.
