THE HAGUE, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Canada won their fourth consecutive match at the World Cup Softball in Haarlem, the Netherlands on Tuesday, following the path of the United States, Japan and Australia.

In Section B of the tournament the Canadian women beat China 2-0. The match was supposed to be played on Monday, but due to heavy rain three games of the fourth match round were postponed until Tuesday.

Also on Wednesday Cuba booked their third victory in four matches in Section B by defeating Puerto Rico 3-1, while in Group A the Dominican Republic beat Chinese Taipei 7-0 for their third win as well.

On Monday already reigning world champions Japan grabbed their fourth win by crushing New Zealand 9-0. Russia defeated Czech Republic 3-0.

In Group B Australia and the nine-time world champions United States stayed on top with their fourth victory over hosts the Netherlands (4-0) and Britain (11-0) respectively. Italy beat Botswana 6-0.

If the weather allows it, because there is more rain delay, the fifth match round will be completed on Tuesday. The first four teams from each of the two sections, progress to the playoffs for the title. The gold medal game will be played on Sunday August 24.
