Romanian PM wishes athletes to win more Youth Olympic medals

BUCHAREST, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta expressed his wish on Sunday on his Facebook page that the national athletes will win more medals at Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.

"Good luck to the Romanian delegation at the Summer Youth Olympics going on these days in Nanjing (China)!" Ponta wrote in a post on his Facebook page, emphasizing that "these young talented athletes are the future of our country and we should be proud of them!"

"Let them win as many medals as possible! We are keeping our fingers crossed for you," Ponta added.

Romania has sent 41 athletes aged between 14 and 18 years to compete at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing.

The 41 athletes will compete in 14 disciplines: athletics, basketball, boxing, weightlifting, rowing, canoe and kayak, judo, swimming, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, fencing, taekwondo, table tennis, and tennis.
