BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese soccer referee jailed since 2010 for taking bribes has received a one-year reduction in his prison term for "good behavior", a Beijing court said on Wednesday.

Lu, a former Chinese "Golden Whistle" who refereed in the 2002 World Cup finals, was sentenced to a five years and six months term for accepting bribes totaling 810,000 yuan (130,400 US dollars).

The 55-year-old Lu attended a sentence-review hearing in a courtroom in Yancheng Prison in North China's Hebei Province.
