LONDON, June 20 (Xinhua) -- British fans have to do some math for England's knock-out after its 2-1 defeat against Uruguay, which is commented by some English media in joking tongue.
The Sun published a picture of weeping Kai, Wayne Rooney's son, said tongue in cheek "Don't worry Kai. If Italy beat Costa Rica today ... then Suarez and Co lose to Italy ... and Daddy scores a couple (or maybe more) against Costa Rica ... We're through."
England will maintain the possibility for the knock-out stage as if Italy wins the rest two games and England scores 3 points from the game agaist Costa Rica.
The Times and The Independent focused on a picture of Suarez consoling his Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard who unfortunately headed the ball to Suarez and helped him kick the winning goal. The Guardian said, "Gerrard had a horrible match here."
Besides, Italy striker Mario Balotelli, who made a header in the 2-1 victory over England, also made fun of England on twitter, saying "If we beat Costa Rica I want a kiss, obviously on the cheek, from the UK Queen."
