PARIS, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage after a ski accident, was no longer in coma and left the hospital where he was being treated since late 2013, his spokeswoman said Monday.
"Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and left the hospital in Grenoble on Monday," Sabine Kehm said without elaborating.
"His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and administrative services of Grenoble hospital ... Everyone has done a great job during these first months," she added.
In April, Schmacher manager announced an improvement of the former champion's heath situation.
Two months earlier his doctors started a gradual waking process by lowering the dosage of the drugs that have kept the retired seven-time Formula One champion in a coma since he suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident on Dec. 29 at Meribel ski resort in the French Alps.
