SHIJIAZHUANG, Hebei Province, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese runners captured both the men's and women's victories in the RW50 Wuyuezhai International Cross-Country Grand Prix in north China's Hebei Province.
Li Yongyuan pulled off the men's title after clocking four hours 34 minutes and 16 seconds to cover 50 kilometers while women's title went to Zheng Wenrong in 5:31:03 on Saturday.
The competition attracted professional marathon runners and ultra trail race athletes from over a dozen countries and regions including China, Belgium, France and the United States.
"The 500 entries were filled in a very short time which proved more people nowadays would like to join challenging competition, to push their limits," said Zhang Luping, executive president of the GP.
The event was held in Wuyuezhai National Forest Park in Lingshou county of Hebei province.
